intimacy

I want to live on the edges,
the dawns and dusks
where the warm colors dull
sharp edges into soft.
I want to live in the warmth
between daylight and sunset,
that golden hour when
everything is beautiful
when everything is beautiful
and the day's worries sink into
soft dreams, holding one another
as twilight seeps through the window
paints you like watercolor
purples and pinks on your face, chest
and on your lips, which find mine
as the sun sinks below the horizon
and your hand slinks below my waistline
unhurried, unbothered.
